Starfall Meadow is a three-acre farmstead nestled in the serene landscape of rural Iowa City, Iowa. We craft and curate a collection of goods for bath, body, home, and kitchen—inspired by the beauty and magic of nature. Our specialty is handcrafting small-batch products made with all-natural, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, many of which are grown and harvested on the farmstead. We also offer bespoke gift baskets for a variety of occasions.

Because we believe in preserving the beauty of our planet, every product is designed with sustainability in mind.

Starfall Meadow is also home to the Rapid Creek Road Farmstand, a self-serve farmstand offering items such as fresh eggs, produce, flowers, baked goods, and Starfall Meadow's collection of products.

The Residents

Starfall Meadow is home to dogs, cats, chickens, honey bees, caretakers, and a variety of flora + fauna.

  • The Dogs

Duke and Stella are Starfall Meadow's resident dogs. While technically working breeds, these dogs mostly live a life a leisure.

  • The Cats

Gypsy and Jet were once barn cats, but due to unforeseen circumstances became indoor cats. Fortunately, they are thriving in their indoor life, but we still strongly believe in the wonderful symbiotic relationship between barn cats and their adoptive homes and fully support and encourage barn cat adoption.

  • The Chickens

A flock of laying hens and one rooster reside at the meadow. Breeds include Rhode Island Red, Black Copper Maran, Ameraucana, Golden Comet, Dominique, and several crosses.

  • The Bees

Three hives of Italian Hybrid honey bees make up the Starfall Meadow apiary.

  • The Caretakers

A love of animals and an interest in building a deeper connection to nature led Kelly & Shaun from the city to the meadow in 2015. Embracing the name affectionately given to the property, Kelly founded Starfall Meadow in 2023 with the goal of sharing the farmstead’s resources with the community, while fulfilling a desire to create and curate.

  • The Flora & Fauna

Starfall Meadow has a young orchard of plum, apple, cherry, and peach trees. There is a 1,600 sq. ft. raised bed vegetable garden, and a new 1,000 sq. ft. cut flower garden, where many of the ingredients for our products are grown. One acre of the farm is planted and cut annually for hay. In addition to several small woodland creatures, such as rabbits, owls, squirrels, and chipmunks, the meadow is frequently visited by a returning herd of deer friends.
